Betsy Garrety is a true Louisianan through and through, she is a graduate of LSU and has been known to bleed purple and gold. She started working at a young age with her local YMCA and was inspired when she watched people blossom when she worked with them; this was the gateway to realizing her passion for teaching and education.

Needless to say, she dove into a career shaping young minds! She successfully taught the most complicated, and usually the least favorite, subjects to high school students: Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Her ability to reach students and inspire them to appreciate these topics has made her a celebrity, students often rush to her in public and profess their appreciation for the impact she made in their lives. Betsy didn’t just teach her subject matter, she coached young adults with life skills, accountability and organization.

Betsy begins each task with her objectives clearly defined and a purpose to be achieved. After 32 years she retired from the school system, but she wasn’t ready to retire her commitment to helping others reach their full potential. Through working with her husband’s CPA firm, she realized that her organizational and communication skills could help enhance business owner’s growth.

When the opportunity presented itself for her to join Ann Marie Erie in opening an accounting and bookkeeping firm that functions as a partner in people’s business, she found her new purpose.
